Sesame shrimp crackers are a popular Asian snack. You can eat shrimp crackers as an afternoon snack on their own or sprinkle them over your favorite Asian recipes. The crunchy texture creates a second dimension to otherwise soft dishes such as salads or noodles. Shrimp crackers add a subtle shrimp flavoring to dishes. You can also deep-fry the crackers to make a light shrimp chip to top your favorite Chinese chicken salad.
Deep-Fry
Step 1
Position the wok on the stove top on high heat.
Step 2
Add 3 cups of peanut oil to the wok and let it get hot.
Step 3
Place shrimp crackers into the hot oil. The cracker will puff out in five to eight seconds. If it takes longer, the crackers won't puff out quickly.
Step 4
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a plate with paper towels. Allow to cool.
Step 5
Put puffed shrimp chips on salads, pad thai noodles or enjoy them as a snack.
