How to Tie Rawlings Baseball Shoes

Rawlings is a sporting goods manufacturer based in St. Louis that is known for making baseball equipment. Rawlings is a major supplier of bats, balls, gloves and uniforms, but the company also makes baseball shoes or cleats. Many of these cleats have an older, low-top look to them which makes tying them different from several of the newer model cleats, so understanding how to properly lace the shoe can help you tie them right and get the right fit.

Step 1

Start at the bottom of the cleat closest to the toes and run each end of the shoelace through the bottom eyelet. Pull one end of the lace until the two sides are equal length.

Step 2

Lace the shoe up by criss-crossing the ends of the lace up the shoe and inserting the laces in the eyelets from the inside. The direction that you begin lacing is a personal preference. You should lace the shoes all the way to the top.

Step 3

Insert the laces into the tongue of the shoe from the underneath side of the tongue. The laces should pull through so they are on top of the tongue and they should be of equal length.

Step 4

Pull the laces tight and flip the tongue over to ensure that you can read the Rawlings logo on the tongue before you tie the shoes.

Step 5

Tie a double knot on the laces to secure them. Many newer baseball shoes are easy to tie, but tongues can pull on the knot and loosen it over time. A double knot helps to keep the shoe in place.
