Vitamin and Minerals
According to its product label, this supplement provides 100 percent of all essential vitamins and minerals, except potassium and chloride, for which the content is only two percent of the daily value and biotin with 17 percent. The calcium, folate, iodine and iron content are each 100 percent of the DV.
The Super Pak Elite Nutrition formulation has 114 percent of the DV for selenium, 125 percent for magnesium, 150 percent for copper and zinc, 166 percent of the chromium DV along with 200 percent of the DV for vitamin A and D. This supplement has 500 percent of the DV for manganese; 750 percent for niacin; 1,500 percent for pantothenic acid; 2,500 percent for B-12; 3,333 percent for vitamin E and C; 7,500 percent for vitamin B-6; 8,823 percent for B-2 riboflavin; and 10,000 percent of the DV for vitamin B-1.
Additional Components
The Super Pak Elite formula has varying amounts of acerola, aminobenzoic acid, betaine hydrochloride, bioflavonoids, choline, glutamic acid, hesperidin, inositol, mycozyme, ox bile, pancreatin, papain, pepsin and rutin. The U.S. government has no recommended daily requirement or adequate intake for these ingredients. They are mainly amino acids and enzymes.
Considerations
Overdoses of vitamins and minerals cause mild to severe side effects from. Excess vitamin A may cause liver damage, while too much vitamin D can harm your kidneys, according to the American Council on Science and Health. Neurological symptoms, such as numbness or difficulty walking, can result from overdoses of vitamin B-6. Excess magnesium may cause moderate or severe diarrhea.
In most cases, you get no additional health benefit from taking more than 100 percent of the established DV for vitamins and minerals, and you should never exceed the tolerable upper limit for any nutrient. Dietary supplements can interact with prescription and over the counter medications.
