A Cherry 7UP, when made at home, is basically a Shirley Temple. Drinking this simple, sweet drink may take you back to when you were a child and this was the only fancy drink the adults would let you have. Now that you're all grown up, you can still enjoy this drink -- or serve it to your own children. Don't stop with the simple version of this drink, because there are several variations you can make, depending on your mood or personal taste preferences.

Step 1

Pour the grenadine syrup into the glass.

Step 2

Pour the 7UP into the glass.

Step 3

Mix the drink with a swizzle stick or a straw.

Step 4

Place the maraschino cherries in the glass for garnish.

Tips and Warnings

  • Choose a high-quality grenadine for the best taste. For a different flavor, substitute half of the 7UP for orange juice. Make a punch with 7UP, unsweetened cherry drink, orange juice, unsweetened raspberry drink and concentrated lemonade. For an alcoholic version, combine the cherry 7UP recipe with 1 oz. of vanilla vodka.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tbsp. grenadine syrup
  • 8 oz. or larger glass
  • 8 oz. 7UP
  • Swizzle stick or straw
  • 3 maraschino cherries
