Liquid Geritol contains 2.5 mg of riboflavin, or 150 percent of the RDA value; the adult daily recommendation for riboflavin is 1 mg to 1.3 mg. Iron

Iron is an important mineral, needed for many body functions. The body requires iron to make the proteins found in red blood cells and in muscle cells. Liquid Geritol contains 18 mg of iron, or 100 percent of the RDA value. According to Merck Manuals, iron deficiency is one of the most common mineral deficiencies in the world. Lack of iron causes anemia, or too few red blood cells. Less than 20 percent of iron in a typical diet is absorbed into the body. Oral iron supplements, such as Geritol, may be needed.
