Android is one of four body types, according to the book "The Body Shaping Diet," written by liver dysfunction specialist Dr. Sandra Cabot. The android body type is also known as "apple shape" and represents people who gain weight around the stomach area more than anywhere else. Learning what foods to eat and which ones to avoid for your body type will help you maintain your health and stay within a healthy weight range.

Low-Sugar Foods

Android body types tend to crave sugars, which in turn causes fat accumulation around the abdomen. Stomach fat increases your risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, high blood pressure and sleep apnea, according to MayoClinic.com. Cut down on simple carbohydrates such as highly-processed grains, white flour, pastries and sweets. Avoid sweet snacks such as cookies or ice cream as much as possible. Instead, choose complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, whole wheat bread and low-sugar cereals.

Abs-Friendly Foods

Fiber is essential for android body types. It will help with digestion and help prevent constipation, reducing bloating. Vegetables are low in sugar and high in fiber, so they're a good choice. Fruits are also fine but in moderation, since they contain sugar. Lean proteins are also tummy-friendly as they're low in fat and will help you prevent weight gain.

Low-fat Dairy

Dairy is high in sugars, so android types should cut down on it. Ice cream and other dairy desserts in particular are not only high in fat but also on sugar. Since android types should follow a low-fat diet, cutting down on dairy fat is particularly important. Low-fat yogurt, low-fat milk and low-fat cheese are good choices.

Eating Habits

Android type people should eat most of their calories early in the day. Three meals and a small snack in the afternoon are ideal, but make sure the meals decrease in size as the day goes on. Dinner should be light and not too close to bedtime. Android types are also prone to weight gain from stress, so try to eat when you're relaxed.
