Catcher's equipment protects your body without sacrificing mobility to make plays. Despite the equipment protecting your body, your knee joints still experience significant pressure and stress that can eventually cause injuries. Knee port cushions, however, support the body in the catching position to reduce the pressure on the knees. They attach easily to most traditional shin guards with a two-strap system.
Step 1
Place both shin guards on the floor with the padding exposed. This allows you to grab the adjustable straps.
Step 2
Position the knee ports parallel to the shin guards with the thicker end on the knee side of the shin guards. This allows the knee ports to align ergonomically with the legs in the crouched position.
Step 3
Grab the shin guard straps and run them through the holes in the knee port.
Step 4
Snap the knee ports into place on the shin guard straps.
Step 5
Put the shin guards on and move into several crouched positions to test the position and comfort of the knee ports.
Step 6
Adjust the position of the knee ports up or down according to your individual preference.
Tips and Warnings
- Once installed, the knee ports remain on the shin guards. Check for compatibility before purchasing knee ports.
