How to Use Olux

Olux is the trade name for the medication clobetasol. Clobetasol is a prescription compound that can be used to treat irritated, red, crusting or scaling skin. Olux comes in the form of a foam that can be applied directly to the affected areas of skin. Clobetasol is a very powerful corticosteroid that can be used to treat inflammation, which can cause certain skin conditions, including psoriasis.

Step 1

Push back on the nozzle to break the plastic covering at the base of the rim.

Step 2

Turn the can upside down and squirt a small amount of foam (about the size of a golf ball) either directly onto the affected skin, or into a small saucer or cup. Do not squirt foam onto your hands unless that is the affected area---the foam will dissolve into them.

Step 3

Using your fingertips, gently massage the foam into itching or reddened skin.

Step 4

Apply the foam twice per day: once at night and once in the morning.
