FRS Healthy Energy drink is a ready-to-drink beverage that is "a healthy alternative to common energy drinks," according to its manufacturer. This drink is purported to be healthy because it contains antioxidants and vitamins in addition to caffeine. FRS Healthy Energy drink comes in several different varieties and is available in health stores and online. Consult your doctor before using any energy supplements.

Varities

FRS Healthy Energy drink comes in four varieties, two of which come in cans and two in bottles. The canned varieties are the original 90-calorie Healthy Energy drink, which provides antioxidants, vitamins and caffeine; and the Low Cal Healthy Energy drink, which has similar ingredients but only 20 calories. One of the bottled varieties is a high-protein drink, which contains 25 g of protein and 190 calories, while the other bottled version is the same as the original 90-calorie can.

Vitamin Content

Although the exact nutritional specifications vary by flavor, the FRS Healthy Energy drinks tend to be rich in vitamins B-6, B-12, C and E. While these vitamins can be beneficial, the combination of vitamins C and E may not be ideal if you are active. A study from the May 2009 edition of "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America" indicates that vitamins C and E can prevent improvements in insulin sensitivity that aid in fat loss and muscle gain.

Caffeine Content

The FRS Energy Drinks may provide energy for your activities due to the caffeine content, although the company does not reveal how much caffeine the drinks contain. The bottled high-protein drink does not contain caffeine and contains 10 g fewer carbohydrates than the original variety, so it may not provide much energy.

Antioxidants

In addition to providing vitamins C and E, which are considered antioxidants, FRS Healthy Energy contains the antioxidant quercetin, which may be beneficial for improving your energy levels. A study from the February 2010 edition of "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise" indicates that quercetin may increase stamina. However, the amount of quercetin used in the study was 1,000 mg per day for two weeks, and FRS drinks provide only 325 mg.
