How to Bake a Cookie on a Stick

The stick goes into the cookie dough before the treat bakes to create a handle for the cookies. You can decorate the baked cookies as you would a regular cookie, allowing you to customize the desserts to fit a particular theme or color scheme. Refrigerate the dough at least an hour to make it firm and easier to roll.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to 1/3- to 1/2-inch thick. Use cookie cutters in the desired shape to cut out the cookies.

Step 4

Lay the cookies on a prepared baking sheet. Press a lollipop stick or ice pop stick horizontally into the side edge of each cookie.

Cool the cookies on a stick on the baking sheet for five minutes. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack, being careful not break the cookies or loosen the sticks.

Step 7

Squeeze a small amount of icing around the stick to prevent it from pulling out of the cookie. Ice the cookies when they are completely cooled.
