Step 2
Opt to eat foods that are water based which will help you maintain a low calorie diet. Fruits and vegetables have high water content. Broth-based soups are also an option.
Step 3
Drink water before meals. Water can decrease your appetite, so if you drink water before meals, you will probably eat less at your meal. You can also drink water with your meals.
Step 4
Minimize the risk of weight retention due to constipation. Water helps to keep your digestive tract functioning properly. Drink water in conjunction with a diet plan that includes fiber. The American Heart Association recommends 15 grams of fiber for each 1,000 calories consumed.
Step 5
Use water to determine if you are actually hungry. Sometimes, you will feel hungry when you are only thirsty. Drink water when you feel that way if it isn't a meal time. Wait 20 to 30 minutes after drinking water. If you are still hungry, then grab a snack.
Step 6
Stay hydrated when you are exercising. When you sweat, you may become dehydrated. Drinking water while you workout minimizes the risk of you getting dehydrated while working out.
Step 7
Have a cup of tea. Green tea has a high water content and it is considered to be an effective weight loss aid because green tea has the highest concentration of catechins than other types of tea, according to the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Catechins have a positive impact on metabolism.
