How to Broil Raw Shrimp

Grilled shrimp provides a tantalizing combination of crunchy texture and rich flavor, but grilled shrimp isn't very convenient during the winter months. The grilled flavor of shrimp can be replicated inside using the broiler of an ordinary oven. In less than an hour, crispy, flavorful shrimp can be created for serving in any of your favorite seafood recipes.

Step 1

Cover a plate with three layers of paper towels.

Step 2

Place 2 lbs. of raw, deveined shrimp in a strainer and rinse under cool water for two minutes.

Step 3

Set the rinsed shrimp on the paper towel-covered plate to dry.

Step 4

Place one stick or 8 tbsp. of butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl and melt it.

Step 5

Finely chop fresh parsley until you have filled ¼ cup up entirely.

Step 6

Add the chopped parsley and ½ cup of olive oil to the bowl with the butter.

Step 7

Mince up three cloves of garlic and 1 tbsp. of scallions and add both to the mixing bowl.

Step 8

Add 1 ½ tbsp. lemon juice to the mixing bowl.

Step 9

Add the shrimp to the bowl, cover it and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 10

Preheat the broiler on medium and set the shrimp mixture onto a broiler pan.

Step 11

Place the pan in the broiler 4 inches away and cook the shrimp for six to eight minutes, flipping halfway through.
