Bodyboarding is an adrenaline-pumping water sport that involves high-speed turns and high-flying tricks. Unlike the elongated surfboard, the bodyboard features a compact design for increased maneuverability. The Morey company offers bodyboards in many sizes and shapes to accommodate beginner, intermediate and expert wave riders. According to Morey, the company's signature bodyboards feature a fiberglass core and a built-in wrist leash. Perform a few basic fitting tests to find the Morey bodyboard that corresponds with your physical dimensions.

Step 1

Stand in a stationary position with your legs fully extended. Hold the Morey bodyboard vertically in front of you with the tail or back end touching the ground. Choose a Morey bodyboard whose length corresponds with the height of your belly button.

Step 2

Select a Morey bodyboard that's 1 inch shorter for increased maneuverability on smaller waves. Opt for a Morey bodyboard that's 1 inch longer for better stability on large waves. Pick a Morey bodyboard with a length of 36 to 38 inches for youth riders with a height of 4 to 5 feet.

Step 3

Choose a Morey bodyboard with a length of 42-inches if you weigh between 145 and 180 lbs. Lower the underside of the Morey bodyboard onto the floor. Lay your stomach flat against the top deck with your hands wrapped around the nose of the bodyboard.

Step 4

Examine the width of the Morey bodyboard to ensure there's no more than 2 inches of space between your torso and the side rails of the board. Choose a narrower bodyboard for big waves as it provides advanced speed capabilities. Opt for a wider bodyboard when riding on slow moving waves.
