When you go on a weight loss diet, you might face some challenges, such as being overly hungry, running out of time to cook or not enjoying the foods you are allowed to eat. Diet cauliflower soup might help you overcome these barriers, so it might be worth considering as a regular part of your meal plan. Diet cauliflower soup can help you lose weight if you use it to replace higher-calorie dishes or meals. To lose weight, you need to create a calorie deficit, or burn more calories than you consume, and cauliflower soup can be a low-calorie lunch or dinner. You can make a big batch of cauliflower soup and freeze it in single-portion containers, then defrost and eat when you need them.
The Basics
Raw cauliflower has only 27 calories per cup, so you can eat plenty of it without going over your calorie limit. Keep the calories in your diet soup low by making it with broth or bouillon, not with cream, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC. To prevent boredom from eating too much cauliflower soup, alter your recipe. For your base, try tomato juice, onion bouillon, vegetable juice or meat, or fish broth. You can use a variety of spice mixtures, such as Italian spices or curry mixes, to change the flavor.
Hunger Suppression
In addition to cauliflower, add other vegetables to your soup to increase the volume and dietary fiber content so that your soup is more satisfying, yet still low in calories. Also add lean protein, such as skinless chicken breast or shrimp, because protein is a filling nutrient. Beans, lentils and peas provide dietary fiber and protein, and if you are still hungry, try eating a green salad with your soup.

Do not strain your soup too much because chunky soups are more filling than smooth liquids, so they are better at suppressing your hunger. Cauliflower soup can be healthy because each cup of cauliflower provides 2 g of dietary fiber and 320 mg of potassium, and cauliflower is also high in vitamin C and folic acid. A high-salt diet leads to high blood pressure, so make your diet cauliflower soup with low-sodium broth, and do not add table salt.
