Lacrosse is a popular team sport, first played in 1867. Lacrosse players play using a long-handled stick, with the head made of loose mesh to catch and hold the ball. Lacrosse requires many skills, and players need to be fast and have good footwork. Pivoting your feet is an important skill to acquire, allowing you to stop and change direction quickly to shoot, pass and defend.
Step 1
Practice pivoting by placing a cone or a specific point 10 feet in front of you. Run at full speed toward the cone.
Step 2
Stop when your reach the cone with one foot forward. Swing your cradle to the right if your left foot is forward. Swing your cradle to the left if your right foot is forward.
Step 3
Pivot both feet out to the right if left foot is forward. Pivot both feet out to the left if right foot is forward. Twist your body 180 degrees.
Step 4
Practice pivoting with both feet to improve your lacrosse game.
