How to Adjust the Belt on a ProForm CrossWalk 370E Treadmill

The walking belt on your ProForm 370E CrossWalk treadmill may occasionally become too tight, too loose or slip to one side in the course of normal use. If this happens, you must make a few simple adjustments to the treadmill's rear roller bolts which control the tension on the walking belt. You can test whether the treadmill belt needs to be adjusted by sliding one hand under either side and lifting gently--the belt should come up 2 or 3 inches if it is properly adjusted. If it comes up less, you can loosen it. If it comes up more or has slipped to one side during use, you can tighten it. The only tool you need for these adjustments is the hex key that came with the treadmill.

Step 1

Unplug the treadmill and remove the activation/treadmill key from its slot in the console.

Step 2

Insert the hex key into each of the rear bolts, one at a time, and turn each bolt 1/4-turn counterclockwise if the belt is too tight or slows when walked on. Test the belt with your hands again to see if it is at the proper tension. It should come away from the treadmill decking by about 2 to 3 inches.

Step 3

Turn each bolt 1/4-turn clockwise if the belt is too loose--if it comes up more than 2 to 3 inches from the platform.

Step 4

Adjust an off-center walking belt by manipulating the left roller bolt only. If the walking belt has shifted to the right, turn the left roller bolt 1/2-turn counterclockwise; if it's shifted to the left, turn the bolt clockwise by 1/2 turn. Carefully, guide the belt back to center with your hands and test it for proper tension before attempting to use the treadmill.
