Drinking freshly squeezed juice has many benefits, the main being that fresh juices energize the body with natural sugars. Fresh juices are made with less sugar than concentrated fruit juices because they do not contain fillers and preservatives. Fresh pumpkin is full of healthy nutrients such as potassium, vitamin A and iron. A pumpkin can be juiced, including the skin and seeds, through a heavy-duty juicer. Enjoy the juice from the pumpkin by serving it chilled over ice, added to coffee to make a homemade pumpkin spiced latte, mixed into baking or make a homemade soup.
Step 1
Select a fresh pumpkin and thoroughly wash it with water and a scrub brush. Remove all dirt and debris on it. You may need to use a small amount of soap to thoroughly clean the pumpkin.
Step 2
Cut the pumpkin at the top with a sharp knife to remove the stem, and at the bottom to remove the core. Discard the stem and core.
Step 3
Cut away any bruises or dents where the pumpkin may be spoiled.
Step 4
Slice the pumpkin into strips that can fit in the juicer. Your juicer may only be able to handle specific sizes of fruit or vegetables at a time. See your juicer's instructions for specifics and slice your pumpkin accordingly. You may need to slice the strips into cubes that can easily run through the juicer.
Step 5
Run the juicer on high. Place a cup or bowl at the base of the juicer to catch the juice.
