Naruto Hand Techniques

Naruto is a popular Japanese manga anime series that characterizes and tells the ongoing story of the Ninja hero Naruto Uzumaki . Naruto hand techniques are also called hand seals. The hand seals or positions used by Naruto are based on Chinese martial art positions that represent different animals of the Chinese zodiac. The hand position techniques may also be used as a basis for the marital art form of jutsu.

Description

According to the manga series, most ninjas in the animated storyline uses various forms of the hand seals in their fighting techniques. You need both your hands to create the Naruto hand seals, and practice is necessary to perfect the often complicated positioning of fingers with one another.

Hand Seals

Twelve hand seals representing the animals of the Chinese zodiac calendar are formed with the manga version of Naruto's fighting skills. The animals include the bird, monkey and dragon as well as the rat, hare and boar. You may also perform various hand techniques that represent the serpent, ox, tiger, ram, horse and dog.

Dog Hand Seal

Practicing the hand seals created by Naruto can be fun for kids and offers benefits for hand and finger coordination and joint mobility. For example, to make the dog hand seal, the 11th sign in the Chinese zodiac, extend your right hand out slightly from your body and make a closed fist, palm facing downward. The back of the hand is level with the forearm. Place your left hand, palm side down and fingers straight, across the top of the right fist.

Bird Hand Seal

Create a representation of a bird or rooster, the 10th zodiac sign, by performing the bird hand seal. Lift your hands to shoulder level in front of you, elbows bent. Place the tips of your fingers and your thumb together. Curl your index fingers down, interlocking them in front of your thumbs. Next, bend the thumbs so that each thumb is tucked inside the palm, pressed together and aligned one with the other. Your middle, ring and pinkie fingers are still extended upward, fingertips touching.

Tiger Hand Seal

Make the tiger hand seal to represent Tora, the third Chinese zodiac sign. Place your hands in front of you, elbows bent. Create the tiger by interlocking all your fingers and overlapping the thumbs on the outsides of your hands. Keeping the third, fourth and fifth fingers interlocked and the thumbs overlapping, straighten and extend your index fingers.
