Lipo-Flavonoid is a nutrient formula that DSE Healthcare Solutions developed in 1961. It was originally devised to treat tinnitus or Meniere's disease. Lipo-Flavonoid is made of eriodictyol glycoside, choline, pantothenic acid, inositol, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and vitamin C. Lipo-Flavonoid is available over pharmacy counters.
Benefits
According to the DSE website, Lipo-Flavonoid provides nutritional support to improve ear circulatory health. When the circulation in the inner ear is healthy, the cilia (tiny hairs) that transmit sounds stay flexible and the fluids stay at optimum health as well. DSE states that Lipo-Flavonoid improves ear health, makes users less susceptible to tinnitus, and reduces side effects of Meniere's disease.
Ingredients
All of the active ingredients are vitamins and other natural ingredients, not pharmaceutical chemicals. Non-vitamin ingredients include choline, which is responsible for metabolizing fats, and inositol, which is an isomer of glucose. B vitamins help turn food into energy and have major roles in many other functions of the body. Inactive ingredients of Lipo-Flavonoids include calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate, silica, and dyes.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include nausea, heartburn, constipation, headache, tiredness, and dizziness. Some people may experience a bad taste in their mouth and loss of appetite. This formula could counteract with other drugs so speak to your doctor and pharmacist before taking Lipo-Flavonoid. No studies have been done to test the safety of this product on nursing or pregnant women, so do not take this supplement if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. There are also concerns that inositol (an ingredient in this formula) may worsen the symptoms of bipolar disorder, so avoid this product if you suffer from bipolar disorder. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction (hives, swollen mouth or throat, or other rash) discontinue use and seek immediate medical treatment.
Dosage
Adults and children 12 years of age and older should take two caplets three times a day after a meal. Within six months, results should be noticeable and dosage can be decreased to one caplet three times a day after a meal to maintain the improvements. Children under 12 should not take this product without first consulting a doctor.
