5 Things You Need to Know About Genace
1. A Combination of Old Drugs Gets a New Name
Genace is really a combination of drugs with which most everyone is familiar. Aspirin is part of the composition of the drug. The year 1899 marked the introduction of the trademark Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid. Acetylsalicylic acid comes from boiling the salicylic acid out of the bark of a willow tree and combining it with acetic anhydride. The second ingredient is acetaminophen, the substance that is the basis for over the counter medication like Tylenol. The last ingredient is caffeine, that delightfully wicked substance that makes the head clear in the morning.
2. Call it a Pain Cocktail
A cocktail that kicks the backside of the most reluctant of pains comes from blending the three ingredients to give pain relief. Genace controls pain from various sources such as muscle aches, migraines, toothaches, menstrual cramps and colds. It bombards the pain into surrender.
3. Interactions With Other Drugs
Because of the composition of Genace, you cannot combine it with any drugs that interact with the three ingredients. Do not use this drug if you are on blood thinner since aspirin in the drug also thins the blood. Diabetics and gout sufferers on medication should not take the drug. Duplication of the medicine and possible overdose can come if you take other aspirin or salicylates. The same is true for anti-inflammatory drugs that are not steroids.
4. Side Effects of Genace
The components of Genace can create some discomfort and a few serious situations. If you have tarry stool, you should cease taking the drug. Indications of blood that is too thin, such as easy bruising, is a warning signal. Liver problems, abdominal pain and nausea, blood in vomit or urine, loss of hearing or ringing in the ears, dizziness and confusion and seizures all are indications that the drug has produced side effects in your body. Hallucinations, confusion, and symptoms of allergic reaction warrant a discontinuation of Genace.
5. It's Available Over-the-Counter
This combination of drugs is already marketed in over-the-counter medication. You may recognize the trade names faster than you would the generic name of Genace. A few names like Excedrin, Goodys Headache Powders, and Supac are available on the open market. Genace also is manufactured and sold under the name of Genace. There are other brand names for the product that are also available. Your pharmacist or doctor can answer any questions that you have that are specific to it's use.
