Chances are your toddler has a set of markers and other art supplies. While toddlers enjoy drawing on paper and making works of art for Mom, Dad and other family members, a toddler's drawing sometimes make its way from the paper to the table, floor, walls, the toddler's arms, face and sometimes even legs. Due to the toddler's delicate, sensitive skin, you need to remove marker ink carefully from the child's legs, as well as other body parts. There are a variety of methods you can use to tackle this challenge.

Step 1

Give your toddler a bath in warm, soapy water. Allow the child to play in the tub until the marker is removed.

Step 2

Try soap and water. Soap and a little warm water should remove washable markers.

Step 3

Use a cotton ball or cotton swab soaked in baby oil. Gently wipe over the affected area until the marker ink is gone.

Step 4

Dip your finger in petroleum jelly. Gently wipe the substance over any marker marks on your toddler's legs. Let sit for 30 seconds. Use warm water and soap to remove the petroleum jelly.

Step 5

Soak a cotton ball in eye makeup remover. Gently rub the cotton ball back and forth over the affected areas until the marker is gone.

Step 6

Use shaving cream. Give your toddler a little bit of shaving cream while in the bathtub. Allow the child to play with the shaving cream until the marker is removed.

Tips and Warnings

  • To prevent marker from making its way on to your child's body, look for markers that are designed to draw only on paper.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of a toddler's skin, avoid using harsh cleaning products or nail polish remover to get rid of marker pen.
