Flaxseed comes from the flax plant and can be in two forms, seeds or as an oil. Flaxseed contains fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids, alpha-linolenic acid, which is another type of fatty acid, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. Flaxseed oil contains 9 calories per gram, which is a lot of calories for a small amount. This calorie dense food can be mixed in with any type of food. You can add it to smoothies or yogurt, sprinkle it on a casserole, or mix it with mashed potatoes.
Effects of Weight Gain Supplements
