When it comes to losing weight, you need to find a diet program that fits your lifestyle and diet needs. If cooking and meal preparation just isn't your thing, you may want to consider one of the pre-packaged diet programs. These programs do all the work for you, providing all your meals and snacks in a calorie-controlled package. If you follow a vegetarian diet, a number of weight loss diets offer meals just for you.
Nutrisystem
Nutrisystem has been available to Americans who want to lose weight since the mid-1970s. Nutrisystem offers a vegetarian plan for both men and women, with more than 90 vegetarian options to choose from. Items include minestrone soup, pasta fagioli, muffins and cookies. The plan provides three meals, plus one dessert. In addition, you add your own fruits, vegetables and snacks. To aid in hunger control and help you on your weight loss plan, the vegetarian Nutrisystem meals are high in protein, with low-glycemic carbs.
E-Diets
E-Diets has been helping people lose weight through an online program since 1998. In 2006, it started its home meal delivery program. For vegetarians, e-Diets offers three plans, including vegan for vegetarians who exclude all animal products, lacto-vegetarian for vegetarians who eat include dairy and lacto-ovo vegetarian, which includes both dairy and egg products. On the program, you receive three meals and one snack. Meals are high in fiber and include whole grains, legumes, soy foods, fruits and vegetables. Meals are also balanced and provide 50 percent to 65 percent of their calories from carbohydrates, 20 percent of calories from protein and less than 30 percent from fat.
Diet to Go
Diet to Go is another company that offers pre-packaged vegetarian meals for weight loss. Meals are prepared fresh, without additives, by in-house chefs. The vegetarian meals at Diet to Go are also low in fat. You can choose from a 1,200 or 1,500 calorie meal plan. On the program, you receive three meals a day, seven days a week, for five weeks. Meal options include egg quesadillas, potato pancakes, shepherd pie, veggie pizza and stuffed peppers.
Jenny Craig
Jenny Craig is another weight loss program that offers vegetarian meals, although it refers to the vegetarian plan as "meatless." Jenny Craig says the meatless meals contain eggs and dairy foods, and may not be appropriate for individuals who follow a vegan diet. On the vegetarian plan you create your own menu from the list of meal options. The Jenny Craig diet provides you with breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you supply your own fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Jenny Craig meals are balanced, and follow the dietary guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
