Right Size offers smoothie powders and ready-to-drink smoothies, both of which are meant to be used as meal replacements. The smoothies possess vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to function but a relatively low number of calories. Whether you lose weight and how quickly you lose weight by incorporating Right Size smoothies into your diet depends on your overall eating habits and your resting metabolic rate.
Losing Weight
Losing weight requires that you burn more calories than you consume over a period of time. Therefore, your weight-loss efforts should focus on decreasing the calories you take in by making healthy eating and drinking choices. Every 3,500-calorie deficit you create equates to about 1 lb. of body fat loss.
Determine Resting Metabolic Rate
Estimate the number of calories you burn per day, which is referred to as your resting metabolic rate, so that you know the number of calories you should consume to support weight loss. According to registered dietitian Debra Wein, men can estimate their value with 66 + (13.7 X weight in kg) + (5 X height in cm) -- (6.8 X age in years). Women can calculate their value with 655 + (9.6 X weight in kg) + (1.7 X height in cm) -- (4.7 X age in years). Determine your weight in kilograms by dividing your weight in pounds by 2.2. Find your height in centimeters by multiplying your height in inches by 2.54.
Calories in Right Size Smoothies
Right Size offers four different flavors of smoothie powders: SkinniVanilli, Lean Cocoa Bean, Leano Cappuccino and Slend-a-Berry. Each scoop of the SkinniVanilli, Leano Cappuccino and Slend-a-Berry smoothie powder has 100 calories, while Lean Cocoa Bean scoops have 110 calories. There are two flavors of Right Size ready-to-drink smoothies: chocolate mousse reduce and SkinniVanilli, and both flavors have 300 calories per smoothie. While it appears that the powder smoothies possess significantly fewer calories, it's important to consider the calories of the additional ingredients you will mix with the powder. According to My Fitness Pal, 1 cup of nonfat or skim milk has 85.8 calories and a banana has 155 calories.
Rate of Weight Loss
According to the American Council on Exercise, a healthy daily caloric deficit is 250 to 500. After you find your resting metabolic rate, keep track of your daily calorie intake, including what you consume with your Right Size smoothies. Make adjustments to your intake as necessary so that you are consuming 250 to 500 fewer calories than you burn per day. If you consume 250 fewer calories per day by replacing one meal with a Right Size smoothie, that's 1,750 fewer calories a week, which means you will lose about 1/2 lb. of fat per week. If you consume 500 fewer calories per day, you will knock off 3,500 calories and 1 lb. of fat every week.
