Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, is responsible for causing genital warts. These are soft, irregular bumps that resemble clusters of cauliflower and occur on, in and around the vulva and penis. Genital warts are passed from one person to another by direct contact with skin. Once they appear, they can also spread to the areas surrounding the genitals, such as the perineum, anus, buttocks and thighs. Castor oil and zinc, specifically zinc sulphate supplements, both have immune-boosting and anti-viral properties. This helps treat genital wart outbreaks and decrease the warts' ability to spread.
Step 1
Eat a meal before you take zinc because it can cause nausea on an empty stomach.
Step 2
Get a glass. Fill it with at least 8 oz of water.
Step 3
Remove the recommend dosage of zinc from the bottle. According to Mayo Clinic, the recommended daily dosage is 15 mg for men, 12 mg for non-pregnant women, 15 mg for pregnant women and 16 to 19 mg for breast-feeding mothers, depending on how much they breast feed.
Step 4
Take the zinc pill with the water. Finish the glass of water so the pill can dissolve in your stomach faster.
Step 5
Dip the end of a cotton swab into the castor oil bottle to saturate the cotton swab.
Step 6
Apply the castor oil to each wart with the cotton swab. Cover the wart as well as the surrounding area with the castor oil to help prevent spreading.
Step 7
Cover the warts with gauze or an adhesive bandage, so your clothing does not rub off the castor oil.
