Grains
According to D'Adamo, people with type O positive blood are sensitive to wheat. Eating wheat products causes digestive problems and other health issues. Other forbidden grains include corn, oats, graham and gluten. Sprouted breads, barley, buckwheat, millet, rye, spelt and amaranth are acceptable and do not react negatively with your blood proteins.
Fruits and Vegetables
Type O positive individuals may eat fruits and vegetables from a specific list. Acceptable produce includes collard greens, broccoli, spinach, kale, artichokes, pumpkin, seaweed, turnips, prunes, plums, figs and grapefruit. People with type O blood should avoid alfalfa sprouts, eggplant, potatoes, corn, avocados, melons, blackberries, strawberries, oranges and coconuts.
Protein
Type O individuals easily metabolize protein, making meats an important part of their blood type diet. Beef, lamb, veal, venison, cod, herring, trout and chicken provide your body with lean protein. D'Adamo recommends type O people avoid ham, goose, pork, smoked salmon and octopus, which may interact negatively with your blood proteins. Avoid all beans except black-eyed peas and adzuki beans.
Dairy
The blood type diet recommends that type O positive individuals avoid most dairy products, which can trigger digestive problems. Small amounts of mozzarella, butter, goat cheese and feta cheese are permissible. Avoid all other dairy products to maintain your good health.
