Liquid probiotics are a good alternative for someone who wants the benefits of probiotics, but doesn't like the flavor of yogurt or other fermented foods. Probiotics are a good type of living bacteria that promote health in many ways by counteracting the effects of harmful bacteria in your body. Liquid probiotic supplements are available at health food stores and vitamin shops.

Digestive

One of the biggest benefits you get from increasing your probiotic intake is an improvement in digestion. Probiotics balance the bad bacteria in your digestive tract and reduce their effects by increasing the presence of helpful bacteria. They can help prevent and treat diarrhea and constipation, as well as reducing the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Probiotics may also help treat and prevent Crohn's disease, colitis, ulcers and inflammation in your stomach. Adding liquid probiotics to your diet may also help reduce the severity of symptoms of acid reflux.

Skin

Some studies indicate probiotics, including liquid supplements, may be able to treat eczema in children. The theory is that probiotics can inhibit the growth of harmful agents that result in skin conditions, reports the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine. They may also be able to prevent harmful bacteria from entering the body through the skin, which can result in other skin infections. While research indicates that liquid probiotics cannot cure eczema, they can help manage the condition.

Cancer

Probiotics may be able to reduce the risk of a recurrence of colon cancer, but much of the most recent evidence is indirect, according to "Nutrition Research Reviews." However, research indicates that using probiotics, including liquid supplements, may help counteract carcinogens in your body that contribute to the development of colon cancer. Some evidence also indicates benefit in regards to bladder cancer.

Infections

Liquid probiotics may be able to treat and prevent several infections. Yeast and bladder infections may respond to an increase in probiotic intake because they work to balance the good and the bad bacteria, which reduces symptoms and may help the conditions clear up. Liquid probiotics may also be able to stop the effects of harmful bacteria in cases of yeast and bladder infections, reports the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Immunity

Increasing probiotic presence in your body by adding a liquid supplement each day may boost immunity. This is because cells that play a role in your immune function are present in your digestive tract and introducing probiotics may allow your immune system better defenses against illness causing bacteria.
