Protein powder is normally used as a muscle builder or weight gaining agent. You can supplement your health while using protein powder, by combining multivitamins into the mix. Multivitamin powder, liquid or tablets can be used with protein powder supplements so long as multivitamins aren't already included in the protein powder formula.

Smoothies

To increase your health while building healthy muscle tissue, mix multivitamins into your smoothie. Smoothies contain a mixture of fruit and dairy products, which can boost your immune system, create healthy and strong bones and prevent free-radical damage of the cells. Fruit contains vitamin C, vitamin A and various and other antioxidants that work to reduce your risk of developing cancer or heart disease. You can blend a chewable multivitamin or use liquid or powder multivitamin supplements to mix into your protein smoothie.

Protein Shake

Some protein shake powders are sold with multivitamins already in the mix. However, if the protein powder you've purchased does not contain multivitamins, you can add a scoop of powdered multivitamin into it. Powdered multivitamins contain a mixture of essential minerals, fat-soluble vitamins and water-soluble vitamins. Do not use more than the manufacturer's recommendations and do not use more than one dose per day to avoid vitamin overdose. The Muscle and Strength website explains that although protein powders may come fortified with vitamins and minerals, some people use multivitamins in addition to their protein formulas.

Oral Tablets

If you do not wish to mix multivitamins into your protein shake, you may take an oral multivitamin supplement along with your protein shake. Oral multivitamins are sold in tablet, capsule and chewable form. If you do not want to take a capsule or chewable multivitamin supplement you can use a powder multivitamin supplement.

Liquid Supplements

Liquid multivitamins are sold over the counter in selected grocery stores and pharmacies. Liquid multivitamins are absorbed into the body faster than capsule form. Liquid multivitamin supplements are measured with a dropper or a spoon. Liquid multivitamins contain the same vitamins and minerals as multivitamins sold in other forms.
