Twisted Edge Extreme Snowboarding is a winter sports game for the Nintendo 64 console. The game was released in 1998 but was quickly overrun by the popularity of its rival, 1080 Snowboarding. Tricks on Twisted Edge are numerous and fairly simple, completed after your player goes off a jump.
Easy
The grabs are among the easiest tricks in the game, requiring only one button for each respective grab. A grab is accomplished when your character jumps into the air and grabs a part of the snowboard with his hand. The four areas to grab are the nose, tail, heel and Indy. Nose is the front tip of the board, tail is the back end of the board, heel is the heel side of the board and Indy refers to the toe side. Press R for a nose grab, Z for a tail grab, left C for an Indy grab and B for a tail grab.
Moderate
The game is mostly composed of two-button combination tricks. As a player, you must press the buttons in the correct sequence rapidly for the trick to be executed. Moderate tricks are made up of spins and flips. When directions such as left, right, up and down are listed, it refers to the motion of the joystick. For "Palmer Air" press R + Right. For "Crail Air" press left C + Up. For "Melancholy" press Down + left C. For "Tweaked Tail Grab" press Z + Right.
Hard
The hardest tricks in the game are also worth the most points. Hard tricks are distinguished from other tricks because they require three- and four-button combinations, all pressed in rapid succession. To perform a back flip press Up + Down + A. For an "Egg Flip" press Left + Right + Left + A. For the "Tail Poke" press Z + Down + Up.
Tips
In Twisted Edge, the player begins the trick by pressing the desired button combination before the character jumps. When a trick has been properly keyed in, the player will jump and complete the trick. You can earn bonus points by completing more than one trick at a time. To complete combination tricks, input your first trick and wait for the character to jump. While in the air, input other tricks and complete them before the character lands. To land without falling, angle your board with the joystick so that it is parallel to the ground.
