Snowboarding boots are equipped with all the basic features of conventional snow boots. Backcountry riders often use their snowboard boots as snow boots while searching for new trails on an off-piste terrain. Snowboard boots are made of breathable and waterproof materials that allow the outside air to absorb your perspiration. Wearing a pair of snowboard pants with boot hooks will prevent your feet from getting wet while trudging through the snow. According to ABC-of-Snowboarding, snowboard boots are equipped with a soft inner bladder that helps keep your feet warm.

Step 1

Wear a pair of snowboarding socks made from a wicking material to prevent your feet from overheating. Insert your feet into a pair of snowboarding boots before embarking on a winter excursion. Pull up on the laces to increase the tension of the boots.

Step 2

Tie the laces tightly to ensure a snug yet comfortable fit. Rotate the adjustment dial clockwise to tighten the laces on advanced snowboarding boots. Stand in a stationary position to gauge the size of the boots.

Step 3

Upgrade the size of the snowboard boots if your toes make contact with the inner lining. Pull your snowboard pants down over the cuff of the boots. Attach the pant's boot hooks onto your laces to prevent snow from entering the boots.

Step 4

Walk through a deep deposit of powdered snow to test the effectiveness of your snowboard boots. Perform any necessary adjustments by tightening the boot laces or rotating the dial.
