Boots are an essential part of any snowboarding setup. Not only do they keep your feet warm in frigid climates, but they also allow you to maintain control of the snowboard during high-velocity turns and freestyle tricks. While entry-level snowboard boots feature a pliable design for increased comfort, advanced models have a rigid construction for better board response. The bindings of the snowboard are compatible with a multitude of boots. The adjustable binding straps will keep your boots secure throughout a long day on the slopes. Website ABCs-of-Snowboarding recommends attaching your boots on a level slope to avoid sliding forward.

Step 1

Carry your snowboard to a low-traffic area that features a flat terrain. Lower the underside of the snowboard onto the ground. Lift the quick-release levers to loosen the adjustable binding straps.

Step 2

Place your lead boot onto the base plate of the front binding. Slide your foot backward until the heel of the boot sits against the binding's high-back plate. Align the toe strap of the binding over the front end of your boot.

Step 3

Insert the end of the toe strap into the ratcheted buckle. Pull up on the tightening mechanism to secure the toe strap in place. Align the binding's ankle strap over the laces of your boot.

Step 4

Insert the end of the ankle strap into the corresponding buckle. Tighten the ankle strap to attach your lead boot to the deck of the snowboard. Lower your back boot onto the base plate of the rear binding.

Step 5

Tighten the binding's toe and ankle strap to guarantee a snug yet comfortable fit. Lean forward to stand in a crouched position. Shift your body weight between the front and rear binding to ensure your boots have been securely attached.
