A do it yourself pull up bar offers you the efficiency of any workout system on the market, without the expensive price tag. Building one of these homemade bars could mean getting the body that you've always wanted without the costs of gym membership or transportation fees to get there. It offers a convenient fix for that sudden motivation to work out. Getting motivated to do rigorous workouts is hard enough. A person looking to workout shouldn't have to make it any harder by adding gym membership fees and limited gym hours to her schedule. Make your own pull-up bar and get that same gym-style workout at home, and at just a fraction of the price.

Step 1

Saw a 45-degree angle on one end of each of the 10 foot pieces of wood.

Step 2

On the opposite ends, drill holes (sized for your bolt screw eye hooks) into one side of each of the 10-foot pieces of wood.

Step 3

Screw the bolt screw eye hooks into those holes.

Step 4

Attach a carabiner to each of the bolt screw eye hooks.

Step 5

Attach one chain between two of the carabiners, and the other chain between the other two carabiners.

Step 6

On the opposite end, overlap the ends of the two boards that are connected by the chain. Do this for both of the two sets of boards linked by chain.

Step 7

Drill a hole all the way through the overlapped pieces using a hole saw drill bit.

Step 8

Insert each end of the two pipes into the each set of connected boards. Leave enough overlap to put on your end caps to your pipe.

Step 9

Screw end caps on the pipe.
