These include muscle rigidity, elevated fever, sweating, rapid heartbeat, irregular heartbeat, tremors, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, coordination changes, headache, difficulty concentrating, memory problems, weakness, confusion, hallucinations, fainting, seizure, shallow breathing or cessation of breathing.
Users of Celexa should report mood changes or an increase in depression to a doctor right away, eMedTV.com warns. Serious side effects such as suicidal thoughts or behavior, agitation, pain attacks, hostility, aggressive behavior, restlessness, inability to sit still, extreme elation paired with severely depressed moods and other unusual changes in behavior can occur and should be reported to a doctor.
Allergic Reaction
Celexa use can cause an allergic reaction in some individuals. Drugs.com warns that this type of response to the medication can be serious and requires medical attention. Symptoms of a reaction include an unexplained skin rash, itching of the skin, hives, trouble breathing, swelling of the lips, facial swelling or constriction of the throat.
