Stomach bloating is most often caused by gas, which is brought on by intestinal problems, such as indigestion and constipation. Fiber can relieve stomach bloating by helping gas and waste move through the digestive tract. Mandarin tangerines, also known as mandarin oranges, mandarines, tangerines and Clementines, are good sources of fiber and contain Vitamin C, which also aids in digestion. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have used mandarin tangerine peels to relieve indigestion, gas and bloating.
Step 1
Rinse the orange in running water to remove dirt and pesticides.
Step 2
Peel the orange. Do not discard the rinds.
Step 3
Eat the orange and the rinds. Because the peel is bitter, you might find it more palatable if you eat it in between portions of the orange, or if you sip water or juice between bites.
Step 4
Wait approximately two hours to notice a difference in bloating. You will experience flatulence as the gas that caused the bloating escapes. You might also have a bowel movement, further decreasing bloating.
