Crystal Star is an herbal nutrition company that formulates premium whole herb supplements in a variety of preparations, including capsules, teas, extracts, gels, baths and more. Founded in 1978 by Linda Page, Ph.D. and traditional naturopath, some of the first United States patents for herbal formulations for women's hormone balancing formulas have been granted to Page and Crystal Star. As with any new treatment, consult your doctor first.
Green Tea
Green tea leaves contain antioxidant compounds called polyphenols that may offer some protection from cancer, cardiovascular disease, cavities and Parkinson's disease, according to the Mayo Clinic. Crystal Star herbal teas are blends of loose-leaf green and white teas and herbs such as, dandelion, red sage and lemon grass. Formulations include Beautiful Skin, Bloat Release, Female Harmony, Liver Cleanse and Bladder Comfort. Consult with your health care provider before beginning herbal therapy.
Hormone Balancing Formulas
Crystal Star's hormone balancing formulas offer support for the discomforts associated with perimenopause and post-menopause. Easing hot flashes and night sweats, balancing estrogen and progesterone, normalizing mood swings and relieving bloat are benefits of key herbal ingredients such as, black cohosh, dong quai, licorice root and chasteberry, according to Christiane Northrup, M.D. and author of "The Wisdom of Menopause." She writes that these are some of the best studied herbs for menopausal symptoms. As always, consult with your physician prior to supplementing with hormone balancing herbs.
