Sarcoma is a cancer that develops in your bones, muscles or other tissue areas. The two main sarcomas include soft tissue and bone sarcomas. These cancers can also originate in your blood vessels, abdominal cavity, torso, head, neck and internal organs, notes the National Cancer Institute. Adjusting your diet to include sarcoma-friendly foods can help promote your condition.

Vegetable Juices

Drinking vegetable juices helps your body to assimilate valuable nutrients for quicker absorption and optimum benefits. Since vegetables contain minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, they may also improve your condition by strengthening your immune system and promoting overall body functions, notes Dr. Murray Brennan in the "Diagnosis and Management of Sarcoma." Raw vegetables contain vital enzymes that are often destroyed by high heat. For this reason, jarred and pasteurized juices are not recommended for sarcoma patients since they fewer nutrients and enzymes. Ideal vegetables to juice include romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, carrots, turnip greens, collard greens, mustard greens, cabbage and other leafy vegetables. These vegetable juices will also supply your body with calories to help you stabilize your weight, gain weight or prevent weight loss.

Fruit Juices

Sarcoma patients are encouraged to drink natural fruit juices, as they contain bountiful amounts of vitamin C, calcium, fiber and other nutrients. According to Dr. Raphael Pollock in "Soft Tissue Sarcomas," cancer patients need these nutrients to help the body defend itself against the cancer and other ailments. For best results, choose natural fruit juices that are free of added sugar and other preservatives. Ideal fruits to juice include oranges, grapefruits, apples, watermelons, cantaloupes, peaches, pears, blueberries, strawberries, pomegranates and tangerines.

Water

Consuming substantial amounts of water helps your body rid itself of toxins, waste and other substances that may complicate your condition. MayoClinic.com reports that you should drink 64 ounces of water daily. Depending on your prognosis, your physician may recommend consuming additional water to keep your body hydrated and stabilize your condition.

Broths

Broths are ideal fluids to consume on a sarcoma diet. They supply your body with protein, help maintain hydration and supply vital nutrients. Chicken and beef broths can be easily digested and require no chewing, which can benefit you if you are receiving chemotherapy treatment, notes Dr. Per-Ulf Tunn in the "Treatment of Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcomas." Broths are particularly useful since they can be prepared, cooled and stored for later use. For best results, choose broths with reduced or no sodium.
