It is important to understand that losing 10 pounds in six days is considered extreme dieting. Undertaking such a task requires drastic changes in diet and exercise habits. Healthy weight loss occurs by combining a caloric deficit with increased physical activity. To create a caloric deficit equal to 10 pounds of body weight loss in six days is virtually impossible. You must burn 35,000 calories in order to lose 10 pounds. However, if you lose some water weight, muscle mass and body fat, 10 pounds of weight loss in six days can be a reality.

Step 1

Purchase a diuretic product containing dandelion root, burdock root, uva ursi, grapefruit seed extract, cholorophyll and potassium. MHP offers a product called Xpel, and Prolab makes a product called Cuts II. These natural diuretics encourage the loss of water weight. Follow the directions on the label exactly and be sure to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

Step 2

Start your diet with a 24-hour fast. According to Paul C. Bragg's book "The Miracle of Fasting," this can accelerate weight loss. He recommends drinking a combination of 1 to 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp. honey and 8 oz. of distilled water three to five times a day to suppress hunger and encourage body-cleansing.

Step 3

For the other non-fasting days of the diet, eat five or six small meals throughout the day to keep metabolism burning away excess pounds. "The Fat Burning Bible" recommends 30 percent protein, 30 percent fat and 40 percent carbohydrates as the optimal ratio of macro-nutrients for losing weight. Remember that a caloric deficit of at least 500 calories below maintenance will significantly accelerate your weight loss. A personal trainer or nutritionist can help you calculate this number, however, free resources are available online to do it yourself.

Step 4

Perform one to three intense sessions of cardio per day. Cardiovascular exercise will help to burn away more calories to accelerate weight-loss. Do not exceed 60 minutes of cardio at a time, as the stress hormone cortisol will begin to do more harm than good, according to the "Muscle Nerd" Jeff Anderson. A total of 60 minutes of cardio per day is a good start, but some individuals may choose to do more based on their current fitness level.

Step 5

Purchase a liquid amino acid supplement or whey protein powder to use between meals, and before and after exercise. These low-calorie, easily digested protein supplements help to accelerate metabolism and encourage weight loss, according to the "Abs Diet" book by David Zinczenko. Take one to three servings a day, but do not use as a sole source of nutrition. Always include solid food meals in addition to protein supplementation.
