Bragg Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is used as a nutritional supplement to help treat many health conditions. It has diuretic properties and can help control blood sugar and blood pressure. The amount you should take depends on whether you are in good health or if you want to treat a chronic health condition.
General Health
For overall well being, digestive health and weigh maintenance, the most common recommendation is to mix 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar in eight to 16 oz. of water three times per day. Start with smaller doses and build up to a stronger concentration. Healthy individuals with no sugar restrictions can add honey to sweeten the taste.
Chronic Conditions
For individuals with chronic conditions like high blood pressure or diabetes, a regimen of 2 tbsp. mixed in 8 oz. of water three times each day is recommended. If you are just beginning an apple cider vinegar treatment for the first time, start with more diluted doses and build up to the full dose. Diabetics and those who are counting calories should avoid or limit the use of honey as a sweetener.
With Foods
If you do not care to drink your vinegar, Bragg suggests using apple cider vinegar as a salad dressing by mixing it with organic olive oil. You can also mix apple cider vinegar into your favorite vegetable dips. They do however caution against cooking vinegar used as a supplement, as this will kill the beneficial bacteria found within the product.
Warnings
Apple cider vinegar supplementation is not right for everyone or every condition. Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar is raw and unpasteurized. This means that it may contain bacteria and microorganisms that could be danger to those with delicate immune or digestive systems. It is unknown if raw apple cider vinegar is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. If you are on any prescription medication, especially diuretics or insulin, discuss the use of apple cider vinegar with your physician to avoid potential dangerous drug interactions.
