Ingredients

The fat and carbohydrate content of Coffee Mate's Non-Dairy Creamer reflects its ingredients. The main ingredients are corn syrup solids and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. The fat in Coffee Mate's Non-Dairy Creamer is entirely saturated fat, and consuming too much saturated fat can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. Coffee Mate also adds artificial colors, flavorings and a chemical that keeps the fat and carbohydrates from separating.

Vitamin D Fortification

None of Coffee Mate's non-dairy creamers are fortified with vitamin D. Consumers may confuse one of its key ingredients -- dipotassium sulfate -- for vitamin D (since it starts with the letter D), but this is incorrect. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that naturally occurs in whole milk and is often added to low-fat and fat-free milk to restore their vitamin and mineral levels. Sources of vitamin D include cow's milk and fatty fish such as mackerel and salmon. Foods made with milk (such as yogurt) and egg yolks are also good sources of vitamin D.

Varieties

Coffee Mate makes non-dairy creamers in several flavors, including French Vanilla, Hazelnut and Caramel Macchiato. They also make a fat-free version and a Lite version. Their fat-free and Lite liquid versions contain 10 calories per serving and no fat.
