How to Hand-Make Peanut Milk Candy

For those who enjoy the soft, velvety texture of peanut butter, candies made out if it are really enjoyable. Traditionally, these candies are made during the holidays, but since they are very simple to make, you can make them anytime you want to enjoy their chewy goodness. You can make bite-sized candies that are easier to carry around. You can also make peanut butter and milk candy bars as well. Keep in mind that these are high-calorie snacks and should be consumed in moderation.

Step 1

Preheat a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine butter and milk. Add this to the heated pan. When the mixture thickens, add the sugar.

Step 3

When the butter and milk mixture begins to crack, remove the pan from heat.

Step 4

Add the vanilla extract and the ground peanuts into the mixture and stir well until the mixture is thick and creamy.

Step 5

Grease a square glass dish and pour the mixture into it. Allow the mixture to cool and set.

Step 6

Use cookie cutters to cut the candy into desired shapes. You may also use a knife to cut the cool mixture into squares or rectangles.

Tips and Warnings

  • You can use butter paper to wrap the candy. This increases the shelf life and makes it easier to store.

  • 3 tbsp. cream peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted peanuts, freshly ground
  • 1 tsp. oil (for greasing)
  • Cookie cutters (optional)
