The Novo Diet

The Novo Diet is a diet system developed by Immogenics designed to discover the foods you eat that do not have compatibility with your system. Eating the wrong foods can prevent your body from functioning optimally. The Novo system will test 115 individual food types in the blood sample that you will send to Immogenics. According to Immogenics, the Novo system will determine the specific foods that your body has sensitivities to. Food allergies can result in many different types of immune and gastrointestinal disorders. Figuring out the underlying causes of these disorders can help to alleviate many of these conditions. As with any diet program, speak with a medical professional before starting the Novo Diet.

The Blood Test

When you decide to try the Novo system, Immogenics will send you a test kit. You will then take this kit to a your doctor's office to have your blood drawn. Once you obtain the blood sample, you will mail the sample to Immogenics in the special prepackaged box for analysis. The test includes reactions specific to 115 individual food types. The results of this test will let you know what kinds of foods your system best tolerates.

What the Result Says

Immogenics classifies the results of the analysis of your blood test into two categories. The Green foods are the foods well tolerated by your body, and you should consume these foods as part of a healthy balanced diet. The red foods are foods that you have sensitivity to. Immogenics lists the red foods in degrees of severity indicating your specific sensitivity by food item. The Novo diet requires you to exclude the strongest red foods from your diet for a minimum of six weeks.

The Nutritional Phase

Once Immogenics identifies the foods that cause you sensitivities, a qualified nutritionist from Immogenics will help you develop a long-term nutritional plan. The first phase of the nutrition plan lasts for a minimum of six weeks. The nutritionist will provide you with a detailed personalized eating plan. This phase works to improve your immune system and eliminate the symptoms associated with your food sensitivities. The second phase of the nutrition plan attempts to reintroduce some of the red foods back into your diet. During the second phase, you will learn the specific red foods that your body can and cannot tolerate. You will know your tolerance level to the specific foods by your body's reactions to specific food items. These reactions may include headaches, nausea and low energy levels.

The Goal

According to Immogenics, the goal of the Novo system is to lower your immune system's response to specific food items. The Novo system will also help to protect your body from bacterial overgrowth and viruses. Additionally, Immogenics states that this process will provide you with more energy and increase your body's metabolism. This will reduce your appetite and support weight loss because when your immune system is not taxed, it can function more efficiently.
