Zyflo is the brand name of zileuton, a prescription medication used to prevent asthma attacks. According to eMedTV.com, Zyflo belongs to a family of medications called leukotriene synthesis inhibitors, which reduce the inflammation or constriction of the airways. These type of medications are effective in treating asthma symptoms because they reduce the production of leukotrienes, the chemicals produced by the body when allergens or other airway irritants are present. Less Serious Side Effects
