Whey protein powder is popular among bodybuilders, those trying to lose weight and vegetarians. A protein of cow's milk, whey protein is also an ingredient in many types of baby formula, according to eMedTV.com. Although there is a lack of scientific evidence to support the claims of efficacy for this product, many still choose to use it for personal reasons. Including it in your meals may make it easier to use, as some find the texture and flavor distasteful.
Step 1
Mix protein powder in a blender with your favorite fruit. Mixing one scoop of protein powder with 8-oz. of low- or non-fat milk, 1 cup of ice, 1 cup of low- or non-fat yogurt and your favorite fruit produces a flavorful smoothie. You can use this as a meal replacement, or as an in-between meal snack.
Step 2
Sprinkle one scoop of powder in with your oatmeal. Chocolate- or vanilla-flavored protein powder can be a nice addition to your morning bowl of piping hot oatmeal, dissolving smoothly into your water or milk. It not only adds flavor, but lends balance to an otherwise carbohydrate-filled breakfast.
Step 3
Replace refined flour with protein powder in your pancakes. Melt 2 tbsp. of natural peanut butter for 45 seconds in the microwave, scrambling it with two eggs. Mix in 1 scoop of your protein powder until a batter forms.
Step 4
Melt 2 tbsp of butter and a 1-oz. square of unsweetened baking chocolate on low in a microwave to make protein powder fudge. Add in 1/3-cup full-fat ricotta cheese, two scoops of chocolate protein powder, 1 tsp. of vanilla, 10 packs of Splenda sweetener and 1/2 cup of toasted slivered almonds.
