By frying sausage in a frying pan, you can not only cook the sausage, but you can put other ingredients in the pan with the sausage. As the sausage browns, it seasons the other ingredients at the same time. Add potatoes, mushrooms or tomatoes to your sausage dish. The possibilities are endless.
Step 1
Preheat the skillet on the stove to medium heat. Drop the sausage in the skillet and brown slightly before adding the onion and potatoes.
Step 2
Season the sausage, potatoes and onion with salt and pepper to taste. Continue to fry the sausage on medium heat until the potatoes and onions are soft.
Step 3
Check the internal temperature of the sausage with a meat thermometer. Meat products must been cooked to 145 F. Allow the sausage to rest for 3 minutes before serving.
