It is possible to beat belly bloat in two weeks. Bloating happens when food that has not been digested properly travels through the digestive system. This causes excess air in the stomach, which causes a bloated, swollen stomach. Take various steps to eliminate belly bloat in two weeks.

Step 1

Use fresh mint leaves or tea bags to make peppermint tea. Place a teabag or tea leaves into a cup of boiling hot water. Add honey or lemon to taste. Peppermint tea helps to reduce the gas that is trapped in your stomach, which causes that bloated feeling.

Step 2

Drink 8 to ten glasses of water each day.

Step 3

Drink two to three cups of hot ginger tea per day. Buy ginger teabags. Make your own ginger tea by cutting and washing fresh ginger root and steeping it in hot water. Add honey to taste. Ginger is known to break down fatty acids in the intestines, which can reduce bloating and cleanse the system.

Step 4

Cut out or reduce foods that cause gas. Cut out foods like candy, french fries and burgers. Cut out spicy foods such as curries and hot salsas.

Step 5

Eat five small meals each day; this will stop you from over indulging. Choose healthy snacks, such as nuts, fruit and wholegrain bread.

Step 6

Take antacid tablets like Tums or Renni. Take them according to the instructions on the packet.
