Whether you make cinnamon rolls from scratch or buy them ready-made, you can freeze them to eat later. When you want to defrost them, pop them in the oven so you can have a warm, delicious breakfast. You need to be careful that your dough does not become soggy during defrosting. Also, don't bake frozen cinnamon rolls because the dough needs to rise before baking -- unless you have purchased freeze-to-bake rolls.

Room Temperature

Step 1

Separate the cinnamon rolls, if necessary, and place them on a plate so they do not crowd one another.

Step 2

Cover the cinnamon rolls with a dry, clean towel.

Step 3

Allow the cinnamon rolls to sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes.

Refrigerator

Step 1

Separate the cinnamon rolls, if necessary, unless the rolls are in a can.

Step 2

Place the separated cinnamon rolls on a plate and cover the plate with plastic wrap.

Step 3

Put the covered plate of cinnamon rolls or the canned cinnamon rolls in the refrigerator and thaw them overnight, or about eight to 10 hours.
