A frappe is, essentially, a drink made by blending various ingredients with ice cream and coffee. However, this sweet drink can be made with different seasonal fruits to make it healthier. Believed to be the derivative of a coffee-based drink, this chilled and refreshing beverage is extremely popular, especially during warmer weather. If desired, by adding additional scoops of ice cream and cut fruits to the top of this drink, it can also be served as a dessert.
Step 1
Add the pitted peaches, orange juice, seedless grapes, apples and castor sugar to the blender.
Step 2
Blend the ingredients until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
Step 3
Add the two scoops of ice cream to the blender and blend again. If you plan on adding liqueur or rum, pour it into the mix as well.
Step 4
Fill tall glasses with crushed ice and pour the frappe into them.
Step 5
Top the drinks with whipped cream and serve chilled.
Tips and Warnings
- Use seasonal fruits for your frappe to make it more nutritious. You can substitute any combination of fruit pieces or juices to create your own personal fruit frappe.
