The NordicTrack Ab Works is a piece of home exercise equipment designed to strengthen and tone your abdominal muscles. Your head, neck and back are supported while performing your abdominal workout on the Ab Works. Produced by NordicTrack during the 1990s, Ab Works received a rating of "highly recommended" in a July 1997 review in "Popular Mechanics" magazine.

Crunch

Lie on Ab Works with your feet flat on the floor. Grasp the handles and position your head 5 to 7 inches from the top of the pad. Using your abdominal muscles, raise your shoulders and back off the floor. Moving your head, hands and torso as one, curl up to a crunch position. Fully contract your abdominal muscles and hold for two seconds. Return to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Reverse Crunch

Lie on Ab Works, grasping the handles and positioning your head 5 to 7 inches from the top of the pad. Place your feet securely between the two rollers. Roll your hips and knees toward your chest by contracting your abdominal muscles. Hold this position for two seconds. Slowly return to the start position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Oblique Crunch

Lie on Ab Works with your feet secured between the two rollers. Grasp the left handle with your left hand and contract your abdominal muscles, raising your shoulder blades off the floor. Hold this position for two seconds and then return to the starting position. Once you have completed your repetitions on the left side, grasp the right handle with your right hand to train your obliques on the opposite side.

Combo Crunch

Lie on Ab Works and grasp the handles and position your head 5 to 7 inches from the top of the pad. Use your abdominals to raise your head and shoulders while simultaneously rolling your hips and knees toward your chest. Slowly return to the start position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions. For a coordinated movement, keep your legs above a perpendicular position.
