Pimples are stubborn bacterial infections of the skin that can lead to unsightly marks on the face, as well as the neck, chest, shoulders and back. Pimples can occur in boys of any age, but are most likely to occur in teenage boys and boys going through puberty. There are many actions a boy can take to reduce pimples on his face and body. However, the best way to reduce pimples is to prevent them from forming in the first place.
Step 1
Practice good skincare. Wash acne-prone skin twice a day using a mild facial cleanser that is water-based and oil-free. Exfoliate your skin two to three times per week. Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells -- this will promote the growth of healthy, new skin cells.
Step 2
Use an over-the-counter acne cream. Apply a thin layer of cream to pimples to help reduce their size.
Step 3
Shower often. Shower once a day and always shower following sports, exercise or physical labor. Sweat and oil can trap bacteria and dirt in your skin and cause break-outs. Wear loose-fitting clothes when you work out. Tight clothes can trap even more dirt and bacteria.
Step 4
Exercise on a regular basis. Sweating aside, exercise is beneficial to your skin. Exercise increases your blood circulation. Increased blood and oxygen flow to your face can help reduce or even prevent the formation of pimples.
Step 5
Pay close attention to what comes near your face. Keep your hands and things like phone receivers away from your face.
Step 6
Try natural home remedies. Apply a thin layer of toothpaste overnight to help reduce pimple size. Wash your face with lemon juice to help reduce acne redness.
