While the stomp pad is one of the simplest features of the snowboard, it serves a variety of functions. When exiting the chair lift, the stomp pad helps to prevent your boot from sliding off the snowboard. The stomp pad also allows you to dislodge snow from the tread of your snowboarding boots. Most stomp pads feature a lightweight rubber design as well as an adhesive backing for easy installation. The-House Board Shop recommends cleaning and drying the surface of your snowboard to ensure the stomp pad sticks.
Step 1
Place your snowboard on a level workstation with the bindings facing up. Apply a small amount of cleaning solution between your snowboard bindings. Rub the dampened area with a cotton cloth to remove any built up dirt or debris.
Step 2
Dry the newly cleaned surface of your snowboard with a hairdryer. Heat the back of the stomp pad with the hairdryer to activate the adhesive. Remove the paper backing from the stomp pad to reveal the adhesive.
Step 3
Align the stomp pad about 1-inch in front of your rear binding in a centered position. Apply downward pressure to ensure the adhesive takes hold. Allow the adhesive to dry for 12 hours at room temperature before hitting the slopes.
